There are many countries where the festival of Diwali is celebrated with the same pomp as in India. In many countries, a public holiday is also given on this day. In some countries the name of this festival is different, but the way of celebrating it is exactly the same as Diwali is celebrated in India. Diwali is also celebrated in Thailand, but its name is Kryondha. The diversity in Thailand provides a starting point for the people living there to understand and value the many different cultures of the world. On this day a lamp is made from banana leaves and then at night these lamps and incense are lit.
