The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India has reported a decrease in COVID cases since yesterday. As of February 13, 2022 (8:00 IST), there has been a total of 30,201 new cases reported across India.

Kerala has not reported any number at this time. Maharashtra registered 4,359 cases, and Karnataka stands at 3,202 cases at this time. Today’s number is lower than yesterday’s and below the 200,000 mark that was previously reported.

This is the seventh day that the cases have fallen below 100,000. Despite the decrease in cases, public precaution is still advised. Social Distancing, vaccination, and wearing masks is still recommended.

There are also new rules regarding all foreign arrivals. The new guidelines will come into effect from Monday, February 14, the Union Health Ministry said. The new measures include a few things. They must fill out a self-declaration form (available at the Air Suvidha web portal), including a travel history of the past 14 days. They must also upload a negative RT-PCR test that was conducted within 72 hours of the travel date. Alternatively, they can also upload a certificate confirming they have received both vaccine doses. This option, however, is only available for passengers arriving from 72 countries whose vaccination programs the Indian government recognizes as part of a reciprocal program.

“Airlines (will) allow boarding (of) only those passengers who have filled in all the information in the self-declaration form… and uploaded the negative RT-PCR test report or COVID-19 vaccination certificate…” the Health Ministry has said. Only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board, and Covid-appropriate behavior, including the use of face masks and practicing of social distancing, must be followed during the flight.

Thai Green Mango Salad is made with unripe fresh mangoes, cherry tomatoes, lime juice, brown sugar and Thai chilli sauce. It is quite a popular dish in Thailand.

Thai Pineapple Fried Rice

The mouth-watering Thai Pineapple Fried Rice is made with golden grains of rice, pieces of juicy pineapple, cashews, soy sauce, dried crushed chilli flakes, vegetable stock, carrots and frozen peas.

Vegan Stir-Fried Eggplant

The Stir-Fried Eggplant is made with eggplant, of course, along with fresh garlic, soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, brown sugar, red chillies, fresh basil, onions, chopped peanuts or cashews and corn-starch.

Thai Yellow Rice

Thai Yellow Rice is made with basmati rice, turmeric, onions, vegetable oil, minced clove garlic, chilli flakes, lime juice, soy sauce, frozen peas and a handful of basil for garnishing. While searching for the vegetarian food in Thailand, you must ensure that the food you are ordering is either cooked in front of your eyes or is being made using the vegetarian ingredients only. The reason being is that the fish sauce and shrimp paste are used in Thailand like we use salt in Thailand. A large number of people, especially locals love meat-oriented foods. Though Thailand is the hub for delicious meat and seafood, the growing Buddhism in the country has promoted vegetarian food quite a lot in recent times. To ensure that your food is being cooked with vegetarian ingredients only, you can tell your vendors’ cook or chefs that you are “gin jae” and it will solve the problem!

The Story of Rajasthani Royal Thali Served to Maharajas During Trip

Indian food
is famous across the globe because of the taste and cooking methods. Here in a
country like India, every state has its own elaborate menu/ cuisine so thali is
a perfect way to explore any regional cuisine. Rajasthan is known as the land
of Maharajas which is famous for its rich culture and cuisine. Every tourist/
food lover must try Rajasthani platter when they plan to visit any of the
states of Rajasthan, as your trip is incomplete without scrumptious
dishes.

We all know that Rajasthan is a dry state as people of this state know how to cook with milk, curd, cream and buttermilk to save water. Sharukh Khan went to tour in Rajasthan for promoting his film Jab Harry met Sejal, he visited Rajwada-Virasat Heritage Restaurant to grab a taste of traditional Rajasthani thali. He shared his fRajasthani ood story to the media.

Traditional Royal Rajasthani Thali Dishes

Every tourist wants to experience Rajasthali Royal Dish that served on a large plate which includes a variety of traditional dishes that are mentioned below:-

Dal Bati Churma

Pic@gozocabs

Dal Bati Churma is one of the famous dishes of Rajasthan state as Rajasthani food is incomplete without this dish. The small, round Batis are dipped in a good desi ghee and served with a Panchmel dal and Churma makes the meal appetizing. Dal Bati Churma is a complete meal as it takes few efforts to cook as the batis can be cooked in huge batches and also stored for 5-6 days.

Gatte

Gatte – Served with Rajasthani Royal Thali

Besan Gatte is a famous cuisine of Rajasthan thali, as it is famous with many names Shahi Gatte, Govind Gatte, and Masala Gatte. Shahi Gatte or Masala Gatte are prepared with thick, spicy gravy and besan dumplings are stuffed with nuts and then deep-fried. You can eat Gatte Ki Sabji with rice or any kind of roti (bajra, makka or jowar).

Mawa Kachori

Mawa Kachori – Traditional Rajasthani Sweet Dish

Mawa Kachori is a version of Kachori which is stuffed with dry fruits and khoya, deep-fried and then dipped into sugar syrup. If you are sweet lover, must have tried this dish after having lunch/ dinner as it is one of the tempting desserts. This is one Rajasthani sweet dish, part of Traditional royal Rajasthani Thali, you must not miss.

Kadhi

Pic@Archana’s Kitchen

Kadhi is the most common food of India as it is widely cooked in states like Maharashtra, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. Kadhi is the most famous food of Rajasthan as the Rajasthani Kadi is much spicier and mouth-watering than other states. This is a healthy and light dish that is to be eaten with white/ plain rice.

Laal Maas/Red Meat

Laal Maas – Mouth watering, Traditional, non-vegetarian Rajasthani dish

Lal Maas is one of the royal dishes of the non-vegetarian Rajasthani platter, as the name suggests it is purely red in color. There are tales on this dish. Lal Maas is so native to Rajasthan that you would not find the same flavor or taste in any other state other than Rajasthan. The gravy is prepared with red tomatoes, red chilies, and sizzling spices. It is too spicy and delicious in taste don’t forget to eat this mind-blowing Rajasthani food when you visit Rajasthan next time. Laal Maas with rice or bajra ki roti is a great combination to eat.

Mohan Maas

Mohan Mass – Stuffed with nuts & dry fruits, prepared with milk & Cream

Mohan Mass is another royal dish of the non-vegetarian platter which is delicately cooked with meat. It is stuffed with nuts and dry- fruits and the gravy is prepared with milk and cream which enhances the taste of a dish.

You can also try more dishes like Gatta Saag, Wadi, Mohanthal, Pyaaz Kachori, Gujia, Ghevar, Kalakand and more.

If you are Rajasthan, Jaipur, you must not forget to visit the original Chokhi Dhani, Jaipur and experience the traditional culture of Rajasthan. Read more to know what Chokhi Dhani has to offer and things to do at Chokhi Dhani., Jaipur

Being a hardcore foodie, I love almost all types of food, but Indian food and Thai food are my absolute favourites. Weighing both the cuisines have curry but how the two cuisines differ. I thought what would be best then to draw out the differences in the curry and see which curry wins.

The word curry initially originated among the Tamil
people of India and Sri Lanka and was freshly used to explain the combination
of a variety of meat and vegetable dishes that were cooked using a rub of
spices mixed without sauce. One of the major ingredients in Indian curry is the
use of curry leaves while making a blend of spices. From here started the
journey of curry and spread across all of Asia keeping Thailand in particular
and its famous Thai curry. In Thailand, the Thai curry is made with a
curry paste that could be either red, yellow or green that is mixed with
coconut milk to form a thick sauce.

Different or
Similar

Indian curry is a blend of spices that contains turmeric, cumin, coriander and garam masala which may or may not be stewed with curry leaves which is not as heavy, unlike the Thai curry. Thai curry is all about using a variety of curry pastes, mixed with coconut milk, to form a rich sauce in which meat or vegetables are boiled. But let’s just cherish what they both share, originally, is the abundance in the flavour of tantalizing spices.

Thai curries are created using the principle ingredients
that is the use of a curry paste and heavily influenced ingredients such as
ginger, garlic, lemongrass, galangal (Thai ginger), and chilli peppers that are
quite dominant in taste. An interesting way to differentiate the Thai curries
is through the chillies that have been used for cooking. Chillies define the
colour and the spice level, playing a major role to check the hottest, and red
curry uses red chiles to give it a milder heat and the unique red colour.
Yellow Thai curry contains turmeric and a more moderate amount of chilli making
it the lightest of all Thai curries.

There
are indeed few ingredients that are shared between the two cuisines such as
ginger, garlic, turmeric, chilli peppers, and cilantro.

Both the curries have its level of spicy but the Thai curry relies heavily upon the coconut milk whereas Indian curry is all about the spices and far less saucy and the taste is miles apart. If Indian food gets thick, it tends to rely heavily on clarified butter or ghee and cream in many dishes, whereas Thai food has no substance of dairy products.

Eventually, these two nations may share the name
“curry” but are irrelative and don’t taste similar at all. Both the
curries have the peculiar distinctions that make them unique.

To decide which is the best; one has to go on
an appetising journey and decide for themselves.

What is your
choice Indian curry or Thai curry?

Indian Cuisines are delicious and becomes more exotic when you get the chance to taste it abroad. I choose to go with my Thai friend (as she too loves Indian food) on the weekend for a lunch date and thought of sharing our experience with the IndoThai Viewers.

For those who want a taste of home, a start into a well-defined culinary ground, jump into the delish drive, tempting aroma, and a picturesque palette of the foremost qualities INDUS Restaurant at Bangkok is where you can try for. Furnished with every ounce of love and care, try the Indian meals at this place, a feast for your palate unlike no other.

Kababs, Raam, Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer served with hand-made chutneys along with sweet lassi is what we were served. The dishes looked absolutely tempting and mouth-watering. The good part was that we were also told about the significance of each spice which makes the Indian Dishes so unique, edible and interesting.

Bringing all the flavors together along with a great ambience, we enjoyed an absolute luxury. Well no Indian Meal is complete without a sweet dish, and Gulab Jamun (a very common and old Indian sweet) is what we choose to binge in. A sure recommendation for all Indian Food lovers and also to all my Thai foodie friends.

India has so much to offer on its culinary platter, but the one dish Indians love indulging in is Biryani. In this article, you will find how biryani came into being, different kinds of Biryani and the recipe of Lucknowi biryani in case you wish to try your hand at this Royal Indian Dish.

                                                                   Biryani Love Affair

Biryani is an evergreen savoury mixed with the herbal warm aromatic spices, makes every foodie drooling. With distinctive styles of biryanis, one is spoilt for options when it comes to experiencing this melting pot of flavours. The perfect biryani calls for meticulously measured ingredients, roasting of spices (my favourite part when it comes to cooking), marinating, slow-cooking and practicing technique. Meat or chicken is often the key ingredient, though in some coastal varieties, fish, prawns, and crabs are also used.
The origins of biryani have multiple theories, some claim biryani hails from Persia and came to India with the Mughals, whereas some believe Timur brought it from Kazakhstan, while some say it has Indian origins.

Origin of Biryani: Indian Traces…

The most popular story traces Biryani from Mumtaz Mahal, Shah Jahan’s beautiful queen who inspired The Taj Mahal.
Once Mumtaz visited the army barracks and found the Mughal soldiers looking undernourished. She asked the chef to prepare a special dish that combined meat and rice which was fried in ghee, without washing, to give it a nutty flavour and prevent it from clumping. Meat, aromatic spices, and saffron were added to it before cooking the mix over a wood fire to provide balanced nutrition to the soldiers – and the result was biryani of course!

My bows for Lucknowi Biryani….
Lucknowi Biryani is made from cashew paste, saffron, curd, star anise and mace. Margination is key element. The longer you marinate the meat, the better is the taste of the biryani. In Lucknowi biryani or Awadhi Biryani, the meat is cooked on slow fire till it is almost done. While buying meat for your biryani, you should ensure that the mutton is fresh and the pieces are small. Lucknowi Biryani biryani tastes best with goat meat.
