Air (April 5)

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon collaborate to recreate a true story in the upcoming movie Air. Affleck plays Phil Knight, while Damon takes on the role of Sonny Vaccaro. The film also features a star-studded cast, including Jason Bateman, Chris Tucker, Marlon Wayans, and Viola Davis as Deloris Jordan, the mother of basketball legend Michael Jordan.

Directed by Affleck, Air is about how Nike ventured into the basketball division by taking a chance on a rookie Michael Jordan and ultimately transformed the sports industry with the Air Jordan brand. This daring partnership risked everything and altered the game forever. Air will release in the theaters on April 5 and on Amazon Prime Video later.

Renfield (April 14)

Nicolas Cage playing Count Dracula is the highlight of the much-awaited Renfield. The film takes a comic approach to the mistreatment of Dracula’s primary assistant. Nicholas Hoult of The Great (2020) fame, plays the title role and Awkwafina comes in as a sceptical police officer.

Cage is renowned for his over-the-top performances, and the role of Dracula demands nothing less. Renfield’s trailer, which blends horror and humour, has already sparked significant excitement among fans.

Evil Dead Rise (April 14)

The 2013 Evil Dead reboot, helmed by Fede Alvarez, proved to be a pleasant surprise with its clever reinterpretation of the original while still paying homage to Raimi’s film and presenting a fresh perspective for the franchise.

The sequel Evil Dead Rise is slated for release in April and has already garnered a positive response at SXSW, suggesting that it has maintained Raimi’s signature blend of grotesque violence and humour. While its plot about a dysfunctional family dealing with their zombie mother deviates from the previous Evil Dead films, it still captures the same high-stakes horror and hilarity that made Raimi’s original trilogy and the reboot enjoyable.

Peter Pan & Wendy (April 28)

Peter Pan & Wendy is all set to premiere on Disney+ on April 28. Alexander Molony plays the role of Peter Pan, portraying a young boy who refuses to age. Ever Gabo Anderson is cast as Wendy and Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell as they join Peter on an adventure to the enchanted world of Neverland.

Along the way, they encounter the notorious Captain Hook, played by Jude Law. It will be intriguing to see how this retelling differs from the original tale.
