<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland-1024x648.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1288"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="text-align:center"><em>Staying in Bangkok for over a decade now, my love for beaches and tropical weather have multiplied with years. Globalization has brought everything at everywhere, but one thing it can never bring are <a href="https://indothainews.com/cruelty-behind-tourism/">seasons</a>. When November hits the calendar, its time for Norther Part of India to welcome winters and enjoy the chill. Lemme share few of my childhood memories and winter hacks that makes the winter so memorable to me.</em></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Nothing can Replace Moongfali and Chikki</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland1.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1289"/></figure></div>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland2.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1290"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Nutella and Nutty spreads are now, our age old gudpatti or chikki triumphs desi winters like anything. Gorging on chikki is the main thing that rings a bell when we consider winters. A sweet enjoyed by us kiddos and grown-ups the same, chikki is perhaps the best memory of winters. Moongfali are the best snacks when watching movies or chit chatting with family. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Naphthalene Balls in Your Closet</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland3.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1291"/><figcaption>Pic-Ko.aliexpress</figcaption></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Aroma of naphthalene balls, when mother unloads winter garments, is the mark of winter appearance. On a chose Sunday, mother unloads earlier year&#8217;s winter garments, and stuffs the late spring ones inside.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Gajar ka Halwa- A Must Sweet Dish</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland4.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1292"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Winter is the authority <a href="https://indothainews.com/pastry-class-with-chef-tarek-el-hosari-in-bangkok-thailand/">gaajar ka halwa</a> season. Indeed, these days you can discover gaajar ka halwa in sweet shops, paying little heed to which season it is. In any case, there is something in particular about enjoying this hot and heavenly sweet during winters.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Melting the Parachute Oil</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland5-1024x1024.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1293"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We evaluate all the science recipes to soften coconut oil in the Parachute bottle. Finding that the oil softens on the off chance that you hold the container in your palms for two minutes or somewhere in the vicinity, was an unadulterated enjoyment of our youth days. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Monkey Look Alike </strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland6.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1294"/><figcaption>Pic- arkasirkar.blogspot.com</figcaption></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Monkey caps along with sweaters and shawls appears nothing less than a fashion icon. But to really escape the winter chill, wearing a monkey cap is a great savior.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Everything You Want Has to be HOT HOT HOT</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland7-1024x696.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1295"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">From water to drink, to bath, to wash clothes, or dishes…. You just need hot water. Geysers on and kettles out and in case both not available, then boiling on stove. Hot soup Hot Food…Winters is all about pampering your body with Warmness.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Boroline</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland8.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1296"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A vintage solution to dry skin, cracked heels and natural glow. A must in your handbag.  Remember the jingle <em>“khushbudar antiseptic cream boroline</em>”.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Looking for Sunshine</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland9-1024x666.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1297"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Whether Clothes or You, Winter is just about waiting for sun to appear so that you can dry all your wet clothes. Also oiling and sleeping under sun is the best spa you can enjoy.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Bonfire Escape</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland10.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1298"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Fire Fire everywhere, whether house terrace, balcony’s or streets, bonfire can be seen everywhere. You can also cook delicious tikkas and kababs while enjoying the desi bonfire. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Endless Cups of Tea</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland11-1024x701.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1299"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Chai attains a whole
new level of significance in winters. I remember drinking numerous cups of
tea/coffee the entire day to beat the chill.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Handwoven Sweaters</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland12-1024x682.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1300"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The trousseau of grandma gets open of handwoven embroidered sweaters, till date the comfiest and coziest thing in our wardrobe. We all still possess that one hand-knitted piece of woolens, that we&#8217;d never had the heart to throw out.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Green Veggies</strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" src="https://indothainews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/imissinthiland13-1024x682.png" alt="Winter Memories That I Miss in Thailand" class="wp-image-1301"/></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Methi aloo, methi parantha,
sarson ka saag, palak paneer…. you get ample variety of green veggies in
winter. Fresh and tempting, it makes a great serving.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><em>I hope many Indians will relate to these <a href="https://indothainews.com/krishna-janmashtami-2019-at-vishnu-temple-bangkok/">memories</a>, especially those who have spent the winters in North part of India, I really wish to plan a trip soon to recollect my old time. </em></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="text-align:center"><strong>For those who are already there…Happy Winters!!!</strong></p>
