Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, hosted a 3-day Third World Ramayana Conference from 6 – 8 January 2023. The Conference took place at Manas Bhawan, Jabalpur. People from 16 countries participated in the event, including representatives from America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Indo Thai News team too participated in the event.

The theme of the Third World Ramayana Conference centered around the concept of ‘Soft Power of Ramayana’. During the event, Ramayana was discussed through Indo Thai Ramayana Forum and Indo-Sri Lanka Ramayana Forum.

Retired Major General GD Bakshi, who attended the Conference, opined that there is scientific proof of Ramsetu being built by Lord Ram. As per the Indian Oceanographic Center, about 60,000 years ago, the sea level was 9 to 10 feet below. Presently the Ram Setu is 9 to 10 feet underwater. It signifies that 60,000 years ago, it was built for walking, and Ram Sena constructed it to cross the ocean.

While speaking at the Third World Ramayana Conference at Jabalpur, Bakshi added, “Ram is an avatar, Ram is a warrior, Krishna is an avatar, Krishna is a warrior, and we are soldiers, we are also warriors. We have a special attachment, and we are very happy about it. Avatar means renaissance. This is the process of renaissance which is happening in Jabalpur.”

Sushil Kumar Dhanuka, Honorary Treasurer, India Thai Chamber of Commerce attended the event with the Thai delegation.

Sudhanshu Trivedi, national spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) inaugurated the Conference. Dr. Akhilesh Gumasta, Secretary of the Organising Committee, said that besides literary and cultural activities, painting exhibitions were also organised at the Conference.
