The sacred island of Omkareshwar is shaped like an Om – the holiest Hindu symbol. Nestled at the union of the Kaveri and Narmada rivers, the holy town is home to one of the 12 revered Jyotirlingas.

Throngs of devotees from all over the country visit the shrine every year. It gets especially busy during the auspicious Sawan month (July – August). The 270 ft. hanging bridge over Narmada adds to the beauty of Omkareshwar.

Besides the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga shrine, also popularly known as ‘Omkar Mandhata’, you should also check out the Gauri Somnath temple which is built in the shape of a peahen.

Located at an altitude of 2,000 feet along the Vindhya range, Mandu has a rich architectural heritage with influences from the Afghan and the Turks.
