Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha approved the proposal submitted to the Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA). “Tourism is recovering and antigen tests will be more convenient and faster for visitors,” Gen Prayut said.

“Many countries are relaxing travel restrictions significantly and our country depends considerably on tourism to support our economy,” the prime minister said.

Despite calls by tourist executives to abolish it because it is cumbersome and time-consuming, the Thailand Pass registration system remains in place. According to a website update made on Friday, applications under the revised conditions will be accepted beginning April 29.

Visitors who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 will no longer be screened when they arrive. During their stay, it is suggested that they self-test utilizing antigen kits. He indicated that if they tested positive, they may start the Covid-19 insurance process or handle their own therapy.

Unvaccinated travelers would be welcome if they could show documentation of a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours of their departure.

They’d be isolated for five days, with another RT-PCR test on the fourth or fifth day. During their stay, they should also conduct self-antigen testing.

Visitors who pose a high danger would be quarantined for five days. For all foreign entrants, the minimum Covid-19 insurance coverage would be $10,000.

Visitors arriving by land must be properly vaccinated and pass self-antigen tests if they plan to remain for less than two days. They wouldn’t be able to enter the country otherwise.
