Event raises THB 280,000 for disadvantaged children supported by Hand to Hand Foundation.
Bangkok, Thailand – The Ascott Limited Thailand (Ascott), the wholly owned lodging business unit of CapitaLand Investment, reaffirmed its #AscottCARES commitment to community development and sustainability with the successful second edition of the Ascott Star Rewards Charity Run 2025. The event, named after Ascott’s loyalty programme that rewards guests across its global hospitality portfolio, brought together 1,000 runners, including hotel guests, property associates, business partners and members of the public at Suan Luang Rama IX, Bangkok, on Sunday, 7 September 2025.
The charity run generated THB 280,000 in total donations for the Hand to Hand Foundation, a Pattaya-based organisation that seeks to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The amount included THB 100,000 of event proceeds and an additional donation of THB 180,000 from CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF), the philanthropic arm of CapitaLand Group, to amplify the impact of the initiative by extending support to more children in need through scholarships.
The charity run forms part of CapitaLand’s #GivingAsOne campaign, a global community initiative that mobilises staff, customers and the public to contribute through volunteerism and meaningful support in areas of education, health, and well-being for children, youth, and seniors. The THB 280,000 contribution will fund Hand to Hand Foundation programmes that provide education, nutrition and welfare support, empowering children with opportunities for brighter futures.
Mr Kanit Sangmookda, Country General Manager for Thailand and Laos, Ascott, said, “We are proud to see the Ascott Star Rewards Charity Run grow into its second successful year. As a hospitality company, we believe in creating meaningful connections and heartfelt experiences – not just for our guests, but for the communities that welcome them. This event embodies the values of Ascott CARES, demonstrating how our industry can serve as a bridge between travellers and local communities to make a positive impact where we live and work. We are honoured to support Hand to Hand Foundation’s meaningful mission to create better opportunities for children, and we are grateful to our guests and Ascott Star Rewards members who joined us in this important cause.”
Mr Tony Tan, Executive Director of CHF and Chief Corporate Officer, CapitaLand Development, said: “CHF is delighted to partner with Ascott and enhance the community’s efforts to empower underprivileged children and youth through education. We are inspired by the strong spirit of collaboration among CapitaLand employees, business partners and customers in uplifting communities to build a brighter future for all.”
