BANGKOK, Thailand — Novo Nordisk Pharma (Thailand) Ltd., together with the Embassy of Denmark in Bangkok, has donated THB 430,000 to the Diabetes Association of Thailand to help communities affected by severe flooding in the south.
Nearly three million people have been impacted by the recent floods, with Hat Yai in Songkhla Province among the most heavily affected areas. For individuals living with diabetes, the situation has been especially dangerous—limited mobility, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted medical supply chains have made it difficult to access essential medicines, testing supplies, and healthcare providers.
The donation aims to support the provision of critical medications, glucose monitoring tools, and medical equipment to ensure continuity of care for patients in these high-risk conditions.
A handover ceremony was held at the Danish Embassy in Bangkok, highlighting the ongoing cooperation between Thailand and Denmark in times of crisis. Key attendees included:
-
H.E. Mr. Danny Annan, Ambassador of Denmark to Thailand
-
Mr. Cihan Serdar Kizilcik, General Manager, Novo Nordisk Pharma (Thailand)
-
Prof. Emeritus Dr. Wannee Nitiyanant, President, Diabetes Association of Thailand
-
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Petch Rawdaree, Vice President
-
