Bangkok, Thailand — The Bureau of the Royal Household has announced with deep sorrow the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, who passed away peacefully at 21:21 hours on Friday, 24 October 2025, at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society. Her Majesty was 93 years old.

According to the official announcement, Her Majesty had been receiving continuous medical care and close observation at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital since 7 September 2019. Despite the devoted efforts of the royal physicians, Her Majesty’s condition deteriorated following a bloodstream infection that developed on 17 October 2025.

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, was deeply revered by the Thai people for her lifelong dedication to the nation and her tireless efforts to promote Thai culture, arts, and the well-being of the people of Thailand. Her Majesty’s compassion, grace, and contributions to the Kingdom will be remembered with profound respect and enduring gratitude.
His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua has graciously commanded that the royal funeral be arranged with the highest honors and in accordance with royal tradition. The Royal Remains of Her Majesty shall be enshrined at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall within the Grand Palace.
Furthermore, His Majesty the King has decreed that all members of the Royal Family and officials of the Royal Household observe a one-year mourning period beginning from the day of Her Majesty’s passing.
