Bangkok, Thailand – Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, The Princess Royal, graciously presided over the consecration ceremony for the restoration of royal chariots and related ceremonial components to be used in the forthcoming Royal Cremation Ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

The ceremony took place at the National Museum Bangkok on November 26 at 8:00 a.m., organized by the Fine Arts Department, Ministry of Culture. The ritual, rooted in ancient royal traditions, marks the beginning of the restoration process for the royal chariots and palanquins that will play a central role in the historic royal ceremony.

In attendance to receive Her Royal Highness were Thanpuying Sirikitiya Jensen, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister Bowornsak Uwanno, Minister of Culture Zabeeda Thaiyaset, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Prasop Riang-ngern, and Fine Arts Department Director-General Phanombootra Chandrachoti.
The Fine Arts Department organized the consecration ceremony not only to honor royal customs but also to bless and bring auspiciousness to those involved in the restoration work. The event underscores Thailand’s deep reverence for royal heritage and meticulous preservation of traditional craftsmanship.

Following a directive from Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who serves as chairman of the organizing committee for the Royal Cremation Ceremony, a dedicated subcommittee has been appointed to oversee the construction of the royal crematorium, related architectural structures, and the restoration of royal chariots and palanquins.
These efforts ensure that every aspect of the royal ceremony will be conducted with precision, dignity, and respect, reflecting the nation’s heartfelt tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother — a beloved figure who dedicated her life to the Thai people and the preservation of the country’s cultural heritage.
