Bangkok, Thailand — The Royal Danish Embassy in Bangkok opened its garden gates for a warm and memorable evening as guests gathered for Hygge Under the Stars on 11 December 2025, a special celebration of Denmark’s EU Presidency 2025. Invited media, diplomats, creatives, and friends of Denmark came together to experience the true spirit of hygge that uniquely Danish sense of comfort, connection, and simple joy under a starlit Bangkok sky.
A Night of Art, Music, and Meaningful Moments
The evening showcased the Embassy’s cultural highlights of the year, thoughtfully curated to reflect Denmark’s creative spirit and shared values with Thailand.
Guests explored a compelling photography exhibition by Danish photographer Ulf Svane, whose work offered quiet, reflective moments that resonated beautifully with the relaxed garden setting. Live jazz performances by Jakob & Yasmin Dinesen added an intimate soundtrack to the night, drawing small crowds who lingered, listened, and swayed along.
Literature lovers enjoyed a Danish literature showcase, while the more hands-on guests took part in a “paint your own” street art activity, adding color and personal expression to the evening.
Danish Flavours, Shared Under the Stars
No hygge-inspired gathering would be complete without good food and drink. Guests were treated to classic Danish hotdogs, paired with craft brews from Mikkeller Beer, encouraging easy conversations and a laid-back, convivial atmosphere throughout the garden.
As part of the program, the Embassy respectfully acknowledged the memory of H.M. Queen Sirikit The Late Queen Mother of Thailand, honoring her lasting contributions and the shared royal history between Thailand and Denmark. It was a quiet, meaningful moment that added depth and reflection to the celebration.
