Bangkok, Thailand — The Embassy of India in Bangkok marked India’s 77th Republic Day with a vibrant ceremony that brought together members of the Indian diaspora, diplomats, and friends of India, celebrating the country’s democratic spirit and cultural heritage.

The morning celebration was led by H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh, Ambassador of India to Thailand, who ceremonially hoisted the Indian national flag at the Embassy premises. This was followed by the reading of the Hon’ble President of India’s address to the nation, reflecting on India’s achievements, values, and aspirations as a republic.

Adding color and emotion to the occasion were cultural performances that highlighted India’s rich traditions. A graceful Bharatanatyam presentation set to Vande Mataram was performed by a Thai scholar of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), symbolizing the deep cultural ties between India and Thailand. The celebration also featured heartfelt patriotic songs performed by schoolchildren from the Indian diaspora, drawing warm applause from the audience.

The Republic Day event saw enthusiastic participation from more than 300 attendees, including Indians living in Thailand and Thai friends of India, creating a festive atmosphere filled with national pride and shared camaraderie.
The annual Republic Day celebration at the Embassy not only commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of India but also serves as a platform to strengthen people-to-people connections and showcase India’s cultural legacy in Thailand.
