India Joins Thailand in Mourning the Passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother of Thailand, paying tribute to her lifelong service and compassion that have inspired generations across the region.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother of Thailand. Her lifelong dedication to public service will continue to inspire generations. My heartfelt condolences to His Majesty The King, the members of the Royal Family and the people of Thailand in this hour of profound grief,”

In New Delhi, the Royal Thai Embassy has arranged a Book of Condolence in honour of Her Majesty The Queen Mother. Members of the public and diplomatic community may pay their respects from 27–31 October 2025 at the Royal Thai Embassy premises (Gate 5), 56-N Nyaya Marg, Chanakyapuri.

Condolence Book Schedule:

  • Monday, 27 October 2025: 14.00 – 16.30 hrs.

  • Tuesday, 28 October – Friday, 31 October 2025: 10.00 – 12.30 hrs. and 14.00 – 16.30 hrs.

In Thailand, Mr. Pranav Ganesh, Consul of India in Chiang Mai, also paid his respects and signed the book of condolences at the Chiang Mai International Convention and Exhibition Center, expressing solidarity with the Thai people during this period of national mourning.

The Indian community in Thailand, along with Indian tourists and long-term residents, continue to express their condolences and pay tribute to the legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, whose grace and devotion have long strengthened the enduring friendship between Thailand and India.
