By the shores of Da Nang, where the sea breeze carries both calm and energy, TIA Wellness Resort has always been more than just a luxury retreat. It’s a place where transformation begins. Now, with the arrival of American wellness specialist Alyson Simms, the award-winning resort is taking its vision even further.
Alyson recently stepped into her new role as Executive Assistant Manager – Wellness, bringing with her two decades of experience, a passion for mindful living, and a unique blend of spiritual and strategic leadership.
“At TIA, our wellness approach is guided by the core pillars of Nourish, Breathe, Flow, and Create,” Alyson explained. “We’re continuing to build on these foundations by developing new programs and private retreats that support deeper personal transformation. Our aim is to empower each individual to discover their own path, gain tools for mindful living, and carry their wellness journey home with confidence and clarity.”
From Texas to 50 Countries – A Life in Wellness
Alyson’s journey has been anything but ordinary. Raised in Texas, she first discovered mindful living through yoga. What started as a personal practice quickly turned into a career path. By her late 20s, she was running YogaYoga in Austin, where she oversaw more than 200 teachers and expanded the studio from three to five locations.
But Alyson’s curiosity led her far beyond the yoga mat. Over the years, she traveled to 50 different countries, each experience deepening her understanding of wellness through diverse cultural perspectives.
She brought this global insight to the luxury travel sector with Miraval Austin Wellness Resort & Spa between 2019 and 2023, where she designed immersive wellness experiences that blended tradition with innovation.
Entrepreneur, Author, Retreat Leader
Alyson’s creative energy also pushed her into entrepreneurship. From 2011 to 2024, she ran Atma’s Offerings, an e-commerce business selling mala beads and wellness tools crafted by artisans from communities she deeply cared for. Her fascination with malas led to the publication of her book, The Magic of Malas (2019), now available through major online retailers.
Alongside her business, Alyson hosted international wellness retreats, bringing groups to inspiring destinations around the world.
Then, in 2023, she launched Checking In with Alyson, a consulting firm that guided both businesses and individuals in wellness, travel, and entrepreneurship. That blend of teaching, global markets, and wellness expertise naturally led her to Vietnam, and to TIA.
What She’s Bringing to TIA Wellness Resort
Since joining the Da Nang property, Alyson has been infusing TIA’s programs with her signature mix of innovation and authenticity.
“We will soon be launching a range of new therapies exclusively for our retreat-inclusive guests, including advanced high-tech facial treatments, enhanced traditional therapies, and unique, one-of-a-kind multisensory experiences,” Alyson revealed. “Alongside these, new offerings will also be introduced for our wellness-inclusive guests, expanding access to energy healing and introducing additional bodywork treatments.”
It’s a bold vision that builds on what TIA already does best: combining a luxury resort stay with deeply transformative wellness practices.
A Destination for Renewal
TIA Wellness Resort sits along Da Nang’s picture-perfect coastline, where golden sands meet the South China Sea. Beyond the view, however, lies an expansive 22-treatment-room wellness center surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Guests enjoy daily yoga, breathwork, HIIT, and creativity classes, as well as spa therapies that are included as part of the nightly stay.
With an adults-only pool, ice baths, and peaceful relaxation areas, TIA provides an ideal canvas for wellness journeys—whether for a few days or a few weeks.
Now, with Alyson Simms shaping its future, the resort is entering a new chapter. Her vision blends global experience with TIA’s holistic philosophy, ensuring that guests don’t just leave refreshed—they leave transformed.
