Phetchaburi Comes Alive at 39th Phra Nakhon Khiri – Mueang Phet Fair

Phetchaburi, Thailand — The 39th annual Phra Nakhon Khiri – Mueang Phet Fair officially opened on February 21, 2026, at King Mongkut Memorial Park in Mueang Phetchaburi District, drawing visitors from across Thailand and abroad. The grand ceremony was presided over by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, alongside Cabinet members and local dignitaries.

The event kicked off with a solemn tribute at the monument of King Mongkut (Rama IV), followed by mesmerizing cultural performances, including “Following the Royal Footsteps in Phetchaburi” and “Lakshmi Devi: Tribute to Her Majesty the Queen Mother.” A spectacular fireworks display of 1,350 shots lit up the evening sky, leaving attendees in awe.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Interior Sakda Vicheansil, Phetchaburi Governor Police Lieutenant Phopchanok Chalanukhro, and other officials, toured exhibitions showcasing Royal Initiative Projects and local OTOP products, highlighting Phetchaburi’s rich history, culture, and distinctive local craftsmanship.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Anutin praised the organizers for promoting cultural tourism and boosting the local economy. He also thanked participants for embracing traditional Thai attire, which enhanced the festival’s authentic atmosphere.

Running from February 20 to March 1, 2026, the 10-day fair celebrates the royal contributions of the Monarchy while providing a platform for local artisans and entrepreneurs. Visitors can expect cultural performances, handicraft displays, and immersive experiences that showcase the unique identity of Phetchaburi Province.
