Bangkok, Thailand – The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India in Bangkok marked a significant cultural occasion with the celebration of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, honoring the 163rd birth anniversary of the iconic Indian philosopher and spiritual leader.
The highlight of the event was an insightful academic lecture on “The Legacy and Ideology of Swami Vivekananda”, delivered by Dr. Chetnitipath Promchin, Lecturer at the Graduate School of Vajranyanavarorasa, Mahamakut Buddhist University. Dr. Promchin’s talk delved into Vivekananda’s enduring influence on philosophy, spirituality, and cross-cultural understanding.
The ceremony commenced with opening remarks by Ms. Paulomi Tripathi, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Bangkok, who emphasized the importance of celebrating cultural icons in strengthening India-Thailand ties.
Adding a musical dimension to the event, the Govinda Bhasya Band, led by Mr. Noparuj Satjawan, captivated the audience with a mesmerizing fusion of Indian classical music and jazz, creating a soulful experience that resonated deeply with attendees.
The celebration brought together distinguished guests, members of the Indian diaspora, and around 70 enthusiastic audience members, who actively participated and appreciated the vibrant mix of culture, music, and intellectual discussion.
