Sweden’s success stories—featuring world-renowned tech unicorns like Skype, Spotify, and Mojang—served as examples of how innovation and public policy can work hand-in-hand to drive long-term national growth.
Key milestones discussed included:
-
The Home PC Reform, which made computers accessible to households nationwide.
-
Nationwide broadband expansion, ensuring digital inclusion for all citizens.

The Digitalisation Strategy 2025–2030, focusing on future-ready infrastructure and digital literacy.
Ambassador Hammargren also underscored how Sweden’s foreign and security policy integrates cyber and digital priorities, emphasizing resilience, international collaboration, and the protection of democratic values. The country’s efforts to combat disinformation and cybercrime while promoting responsible online behaviour were also central themes of the briefing.

Sweden continues to rank among the world’s top nations in innovation and sustainability, reflecting its commitment to both progress and responsibility. The Ambassador further highlighted the enduring connection between Sweden and Thailand, noting companies like Ericsson, which has supported Thailand’s digital infrastructure development since 1897.
