Bangkok, Thailand – On 20 November 2025, The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India, Bangkok, hosted an enriching workshop for 45 cadets and 20 officers from Thailand’s prestigious Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy. The event celebrated the enduring cultural and educational ties between India and Thailand.
The workshop, titled “Yoga – An Ancient Science of Health & Wellbeing,” was led by SVCC Yoga Teacher Mr. Sanjiv Chaturvedi, who guided participants through practical sessions emphasizing the holistic benefits of Yoga for mental and physical wellbeing.
Adding a vibrant cultural dimension, Dr. Rittapotcharaporn Thongtanorm (Ms. Roong) demonstrated the intricate Indian classical dance form, Bharatanatyam, discussing its historical roots, significance, and artistic expressions. The interactive session allowed cadets and officers to appreciate India’s rich cultural heritage firsthand.
Ambassador of India to Thailand, Shri Nagesh Singh, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting India’s longstanding commitment to promoting cross-cultural exchange, knowledge sharing, and cooperation with Thailand. He also addressed the delegation led by Lt Gen Archin Padhamajit, emphasizing the deep-rooted historical ties and growing bilateral collaboration between the two nations.
The workshop also attracted enthusiastic students from Thammasat University and was attended by key officials including Ms. Paulomi Tripathi, Deputy Chief of Mission, Ms. Jagpreet Kaur, Second Secretary, Embassy of India, and Dr. Mahesh Chougule, Faculty of Social Administration, Thammasat University, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of cultural learning and dialogue.
The event underscored the power of cultural exchange in strengthening international relations, demonstrating how traditional Indian practices like Yoga and classical arts continue to inspire and connect communities across borders.
