The Princess from The Moon Palace – Prosperity, Happiness, and Sustainability
Bangkok, Thailand – The Ministry of Culture (MOC), in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and S&P Syndicate Public Company Limited, hosted a spectacular Moon Festival ceremony at the Thian Fa Foundation, Yaowarat, on October 6, 2025, to mark 50 years of Thailand–China diplomatic relations.

The ceremony, themed “The Princess from The Moon Palace – Prosperity, Happiness, and Sustainability,” was presided over by Mrs. Chotika Akrakitsopakool, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, on behalf of Mr. Prasop Rian-ngern, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
The event brought together key figures from both cultural and tourism sectors, including Mr. Nat Krutsut, Deputy Governor for Products and Tourism Business at TAT; Mrs. Manisuda Sila-on, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at S&P; Mr. Samai Kwakpethoon, Chairman of the Thian Fa Foundation; and renowned spiritual advisor Ajarn Katha Chinabanchorn. The ceremony also drew participation from the media, Chinese visitors, and Thai-Chinese communities who joined in the festivities along Yaowarat Road.

The highlight of the evening is the unveiling and cutting of the world’s largest mooncake, a symbolic gesture celebrating half a century of friendship and cooperation between Thailand and China.

The event beautifully showcased traditional Moon Festival customs that honor love, gratitude, and unity, while promoting cultural exchange and community bonding. The Ministry of Culture emphasized that such celebrations reflect the shared heritage between Thailand and China and serve as a reminder of how culture continues to be a source of national pride and sustainable development.

“Let culture be the power of pride for all Thais,” the Ministry noted, as lanterns lit up Yaowarat, creating a magical night filled with blessings for prosperity, happiness, and harmony.
