Bangkok, Thailand – The ASEAN-India Pavilion was officially inaugurated at the PATA Travel Mart 2025 by Ambassador Nagesh Singh and Shri P. A. Mohamed Riyas, Minister of Tourism of Kerala, marking the ASEAN-India Year of Tourism. The initiative, led by IRCTC with support from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, showcased opportunities for collaboration between India and ASEAN countries.
Ambassador Singh also visited the Uttar Pradesh and Telangana pavilions, interacting with tourism stakeholders to strengthen bilateral tourism ties.
Meanwhile, Thailand celebrated a major victory at the PATA Gold Awards 2025, winning eight awards. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) received two accolades for its “Love Season Initiative” digital campaign and the award-winning photograph “The Hidden Romance of Sam Roi Yot.”
The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) secured six more awards, including the prestigious PATA Grand Award for sustainable cultural heritage preservation at Ban Na Ton Chan Homestay.
The event, held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok, reaffirmed Thailand’s leadership in sustainable tourism and Asia’s growing regional cooperation.
