BANGKOK, Thailand — The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has confirmed a one-day toll exemption across three major expressways on December 5, 2025, in honor of National Father’s Day and the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great.
The toll waiver will be implemented from 12:01 a.m. to midnight, offering motorists a smoother and more cost-efficient travel experience during the national holiday.
Toll-Free Expressways on December 5
-
Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway – 21 toll plazas
-
Si Rat Expressway – 32 toll plazas
-
Udon Ratthaya Expressway – 10 toll plazas between Bang Pa-in and Pak Kret
EXAT stated that the temporary exemption aims to ease holiday traffic, reduce congestion at toll booths, and lower transportation expenses for the public during one of Thailand’s significant national observances.
With many Thais traveling to pay respects, visit family, or participate in Father’s Day activities, the measure is expected to support smoother mobility across Greater Bangkok and nearby provinces.
What Travelers Should Know
Motorists can use all three expressways at no charge for the full 24-hour period. Travelers are encouraged to plan routes ahead, anticipate increased traffic volume throughout the day, and follow EXAT’s real-time updates for the latest travel conditions.
