Thailand Showcases Vibrant Tourism at OTM 2025 in Mumbai

Mumbai, India – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is making a significant impact at the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2025, South Asia’s largest travel trade fair, held from 30 January to 1 February at the Jio World Convention Centre. With over 1,600 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and an expected footfall exceeding 40,000 visitors, OTM 2025 serves as a key platform for global tourism engagement.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, expressed enthusiasm about Thailand’s participation, stating: “India remains one of our most significant tourism markets, and we are delighted to celebrate surpassing 2 million Indian visitors to Thailand last year. At OTM 2025, we present our country’s rich and diverse offerings as part of the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025. Our goal is to inspire first-time visitors, deepen connections with Indian travellers, and highlight unmatched experiences through cultural promotion and business exchanges.”

Marking its 12th consecutive year at OTM, TAT reinforces its commitment to the Indian market with an impressive showcase of Thailand’s renowned hospitality, cultural vibrancy, and diverse tourism offerings. The Amazing Thailand Stand features luxury escapes, family-friendly holidays, wellness retreats, and corporate incentive packages. Additionally, the stand facilitates networking between 25 Thai tourism sellers and numerous Indian buyers, fostering collaborations that drive mutual growth. A dedicated cultural zone captivates visitors with live performances, arts, and crafts, offering an immersive experience into Thailand’s heritage.

With a target of 2.3 million Indian arrivals in 2025, TAT is focusing on key segments such as family vacations, weddings, millennial explorers, luxury travel, and golf tourism. Signature campaigns, including “Living it up in Thailand” for millennial travellers and “The Celebrations with Care and Inner Shine” for weddings and family celebrations, further emphasize the country’s tailored offerings.

Thailand welcomed 2,129,149 Indian visitors in 2024, reflecting a 30.74% increase from the previous year’s 1,628,542 arrivals. This surge is attributed to visa exemptions allowing stays of up to 60 days, convenient short-haul flights (two to four hours from major Indian cities), and strong air connectivity, with nearly 2.93 million airline seats available in 2024—a 92.96% rebound from pre-pandemic levels. Thailand’s reputation for luxury experiences at great value continues to attract Indian travellers.

Popular destinations among Indian tourists include Bangkok, Phuket, and Krabi, while emerging hotspots such as Surat Thani and Kanchanaburi are gaining traction. Top activities include beach holidays, local cuisine exploration, spa and wellness experiences, nightlife, and historical site visits.

As Thailand continues to strengthen ties with the Indian market, TAT’s presence at OTM 2025 underscores its unwavering dedication to offering Indian travellers unparalleled experiences and memorable journeys.
