Thailand is stepping up its focus on the Indian market as the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) joins the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange in New Delhi from 25–27 February.
Now in its 33rd edition, SATTE gathers more than 35,000 participants and 1,400 exhibitors. Thailand’s 312-square-metre pavilion features 50 Thai tourism operators, alongside three airlines, with over 5,000 pre-scheduled business meetings expected during the three-day event.
TAT is promoting its “Healing is the New Luxury” campaign, encouraging Indian travellers to choose meaningful, wellness-focused holidays in Thailand. The strategy supports Thailand’s shift toward high-value tourism.
India continues to be one of Thailand’s most important markets. In 2025, Thailand welcomed 2,487,319 Indian travellers — a 16.82% increase from the previous year — generating 93.86 billion Baht in revenue. From 1 January to 23 February 2026 alone, 382,768 Indian visitors travelled to Thailand, making India the country’s fourth-largest source market.
For 2026, Thailand is targeting more than 2.55 million Indian arrivals and 97.86 billion Baht in revenue.
Air access is also strong. In 2025, 10 airlines operated direct routes between India and Thailand, offering 19,132 flights and over 3.8 million seats. Indian passport holders can also enjoy visa-free stays of up to 60 days, making travel even easier.
