Thailand to Host Tomorrowland Music Festival – Here’s What We Know So Far

Bangkok, Thailand – August 2025 – The Thai Cabinet has officially approved an agreement for Thailand to host Tomorrowland, the world-famous electronic dance music (EDM) festival, from 2026 to 2030. This marks the first time the globally renowned festival will be held in Asia, reinforcing Thailand’s position as a leading destination for international mega-events.

The festival’s debut edition in Thailand is scheduled for late 2026 in Chonburi province (exact venue still under consideration)

A Major Economic Opportunity

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) projects that Tomorrowland Thailand will draw more than 1 million attendees over five years, generating an estimated 21 billion baht in total economic impact. In addition to tourism revenue, the festival is expected to boost private investment, create new jobs, and enhance Thailand’s global brand image as a hub for entertainment and lifestyle experiences.

Sorawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, confirmed that while the festival will be largely funded by private investors, the government will provide essential support to ensure Thailand delivers a world-class hosting experience.

Collaboration Between Belgium and Thailand

The project is being realized through a new joint venture, VR One World (Thailand), formed by Tomorrowland International (Belgium) and One Asia Ventures (Thailand). The Embassy of Belgium in Thailand hailed the announcement on their Facebook Page as a proud moment, noting that Tomorrowland, founded in 2005 in Boom, Belgium, has become a global cultural phenomenon that embodies unity, diversity, and creativity.

According to TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the agency has been tasked as the lead coordinator for the festival, while the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has confirmed through feasibility studies that the event will provide significant and measurable benefits to the Thai economy.

Tomorrowland’s arrival in Thailand is expected to not only elevate the country’s tourism and entertainment industry but also highlight Thailand as the gateway for world-class festivals in Asia.
