Thailand’s 2025 Tourism Triumph: 20 Million Visitors Embrace Family-Friendly Perks
Bangkok, August 16, 2025 — Thailand’s tourism sector has soared to new heights, welcoming over 20 million international visitors by August 10, 2025, and generating nearly US$29 billion in revenue. The milestone, driven by a surge in family and multigenerational travelers, is amplified by the innovative “Amazing Thailand Grand Privileges” campaign, offering exclusive perks that resonate strongly with Indian tourists seeking cultural and affordable getaways.
From January to August, Thailand saw a vibrant influx led by Asian markets, with China (2.8 million) and Malaysia (2.7 million) topping arrivals, alongside a growing number of Indian visitors (1.4 million). The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) credits the “Thai’d Up This Summer” initiative, launched under the Grand Privileges campaign, for boosting family tourism. Running through September, it offers discounts at ONESIAM malls, Grab Thailand Travel Passes, and family packages at Hyatt hotels in Bangkok and Hua Hin, alongside free gifts at HarborLand theme parks.
Unique to 2025, TAT’s focus on emerging destinations like Hat Yai and Ko Tao has drawn Indian families seeking budget-friendly adventures. Streamlined visa policies, including 60-day exemptions for Indian nationals and the removal of TM.6 forms at border crossings, have eased travel, while new flight routes from Kolkata and Mumbai to Phuket and Bangkok enhance connectivity. Posts on X highlight Indian travelers sharing vibrant photos of Chiang Mai’s temples and Krabi’s beaches, praising Thailand’s hospitality.
The campaign also ties into Thailand’s UNESCO success, with Si Thep Historical Park’s recent designation fueling cultural tourism. For Indian families, the blend of Thailand’s Buddhist heritage and affordable luxury mirrors India’s festive spirit, making it a top destination. As Thailand eyes 40 million visitors by year-end, TAT’s family-focused strategy positions the nation as a global tourism haven, promising Indo-Thai travelers unforgettable experiences.
