Update on the Royal Procession and Funeral Ceremonies for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit

Bangkok, Thailand — A royal motorcade transferred the remains of Her Late Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, from King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital to the Grand Palace today, marking a solemn moment in the nation’s history.

Their Majesties King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, together with members of the Royal Family, led the deeply moving procession. Along the route, thousands of Thai citizens stood in silence, joining in heartfelt reverence to pay their final respects to the beloved Queen Mother.

The royal vehicle — the iconic “James Bond” Volkswagen Caravelle — was once again used for this historic occasion. The same vehicle had also carried the body of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great in 2016, symbolizing continuity and reverence in royal traditions.
