22 Delta Plus Variant Cases of Covid-19 Detected In India.

There is a steady decrease in new cases of coronavirus across India. Meanwhile, the Delta Plus variant of Corona has raised concerns. Union Health Secretary of India Rajesh Bhushan said that so far 22 cases of ‘delta plus variant’ of corona virus have been detected in India. Of these, 16 cases have been found in Ratnagiri and Jalgaon in Maharashtra. The remaining six cases have come from Kerala and Madhya Pradesh.

He said that at present it is very small in terms of numbers but we do not want it to take any big form. Protocol is being followed. The Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomic Consortia’s (INSACOG) 28 labs have done genome sequencing of 45 thousand samples. In which 22 cases have come in front of Delta Plus. Genome sequencing is matched with clinical data.

Rajesh Bhushan said that no variant is able to cross the mask. In such a situation, it is necessary for everyone to wear a mask. He said that the Delta Plus variant is available in 9 countries (US, UK, Switzerland, Poland, Japan, Portugal, Russia, China, Nepal and India).

The Maharashtra Health Department gave a presentation last week in which it was said that the new form of infection ‘Delta Plus’ could lead to the third wave of Covid-19 due to its high infectious rate in the state.

Rajesh Bhushan said that both the Covaxin and Covishield vaccines are effective on the Covid-19’s delta variant. Information about how many antibodies are being made will be released soon.
The new form ‘Delta Plus’ is derived from the ‘mutation’ in the ‘Delta’ or ‘B.1.617.2’ form that first appeared in India. ‘Delta’ was also one of the reasons for the second wave of infection in India.

The Union Health Ministry said that after the highest tally of Covid-19 infection cases were reported on May 7, there has been a decline of about 90 percent in the daily cases of this epidemic in the country.
