Alabama IS Bride Hoda Muthana faces another loss as US Supreme Court has refused to hear the appeal of seeking re-entry to the US.
Hoda Muthana was the daughter of former diplomat Ahmed Ali Muthana from Yemen. She was raised in Alabama. In 2004, she was given a United States Passport. She used the passport to obtain a ticket and fly to Turkey. Hoda allegedly used her school tuition fees to pay for the ticket. She later joined the Islamic State (IS) and married one of their fighters.
Her online account shows various tweets and videos. One of the videos shows her and other women burning passports, among them was a United States Password. She also shared tweets saying “there are soooo many Aussies and Brits here but where are the Americans, wake up u cowards”.
In 2019, her father filed an appeal against the initial ruling. Back then, former US President Donald Trump publicly announced that he will not allow her entry to the United States. Her father stated that she is a United States citizen and must be allowed entry.

Opposition sights a law that the children of diplomats, when born in the United States do not make children a citizen. Moda’s father that he was no longer a diplomat for months when she was born.
Hoda is seeking entry to the US stating in an interview that she was a “naive, angry and arrogant young woman” when she joined IS. She has repeatedly said that she regrets joining the IS and apologized for how she behaved.
Her ruling comes as no surprise as IS brides around the world including Shamima Begum who was a UK citizen and joined IS was stripped of her UK citizenship. Countries around the world are cautious regarding citizens joining terrorist groups and wanting to return to their native lands.
