Argentina Approves Single-Dose Corona Vaccine of Sputnik

Argentina has approved the use of single-dose Sputnik Light vaccine made in Russia. After this it can be used as a booster shot or vaccine dose. It was informed by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) that the Argentine Health Ministry has approved the use of Sputnik Lite vaccine as a standalone and booster shot.

Argentina is among the countries in the world that first approved the use of the Sputnik-V vaccine in December 2020. The National Administration of Drugs, Foods and Medical Devices (ANMAT) has approved it on the basis of clinical trial data conducted in Russia without any trial in Argentina.

Here, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday expressed hope of getting the country’s anti-coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V soon from the World Health Organization (WHO) and said that the move is necessary to increase its global supply. During a video call with Francesco Rocca, president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Putin said WHO approval is necessary for the Russian vaccine to be delivered worldwide, including a free supply.
