Bangkok, Thailand – On August 30th, 2023, the Joint Foreign Trade Commission (JFCCT), in collaboration with the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises (OSMEP) and the ASEAN Access Organization, hosted a transformative seminar titled “Unlocking ASEAN ACCESS – Connecting Business to Opportunity” at the prestigious Rembrandt Hotel. The event, which ran from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, brought together prominent industry figures and entrepreneurs to explore the vast potential of the ASEAN market and discover new avenues for growth.

The seminar featured a lineup of distinguished speakers who shared their valuable insights:

Mrs. Vibeke Lyssand, Chairwoman of JFCCT, opened the event with an inspiring address, setting the stage for an afternoon filled with innovation and collaboration.

Dr. Nimnual Piewthongngam, Chairperson of the SME Committee (JFCCT), delivered a warm welcome speech, emphasizing the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in driving economic growth.

Ms. Triin Udris, Consultant at ASEAN Access (Office of SMEs Promotion of Thailand), captivated the audience with her expertise on ‘ASEAN Access: Your Business Gateway to ASEAN & Beyond.’ She shed light on the numerous opportunities available to businesses within the ASEAN region and the broader international market.

Ms. Onvarin Hotrabhavananda, CEO of Onrada Corporation CO., LTD, took the stage to discuss ‘Enabling Your Business Opportunities in ASEAN.’ Her practical insights provided attendees with valuable strategies for navigating the complex ASEAN landscape.

The seminar was designed to empower members of the Joint Foreign and Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce (JFCCT) and small entrepreneurs alike with a deeper understanding of the ASEAN market. Throughout the event, attendees had the opportunity to delve into various topics, including market regulations by country and the potential growth areas within the ASEAN market.

One highlight of the seminar was the introduction of an online business matching platform. Registered members were able to showcase their products and services on this platform, effectively connecting with potential partners and customers. In addition, participants were invited to take part in organized training sessions, scheduled to commence in 2021, aimed at enhancing their business acumen and market knowledge.

Ms. Triin Udris, in a hands-on session, guided business leaders on how to register on the platform, offering personalized assistance to those looking to engage in trade and service provision within the ASEAN market.

The speakers also touched upon the revolutionary MATCH feature, set to be a game-changer for enterprises seeking to remain relevant in the global supply chain. MATCH services will encompass live market information events, one-on-one matchmaking meetings, and opportunities to showcase products and technologies. These services are poised to reshape how businesses across ASEAN and beyond establish crucial connections for sustained growth and success.
