Boris Johnson – No one warned me

Boris Johnson is set to attend an inquiry by senior civil servant Sue Grey. Days before the inquiry the PM stated that he was not warned by anyone regarding the parties. Boris Johnson stated, “nobody warned me that it was against the rules.”

This comes a day after former top aid Dominic Cummings that the PM was cautioned against the parties. In his interview, Mr. Cummings sighted a response made to the email invites to the party. The emails warn the PM that he is breaking the rules.

MPs are currently discussing if they will send letters of no confidence. If a total of 54 MPs will send letters, it will trigger a leadership contest.

Boris Johnson expressed his apologies to the parliament and the Queen. The apology to the parliament was because of the party he attended for 25 minutes. The party was held during a covid lockdown. This was discovered after an email invite was leaked. The second apology was towards the Queen. He stated that he regrets the event. A party was held for 30 people during the ever of Prince Philip’s funeral. It is said that during the party, no social distancing rules were applied. A backlash was received by the PM since during that night, the Queen is seen sitting by herself. This was because of the COVID rules implemented by Boris’ government at that time.

Many are waiting for the report to be released.
