European Union nations must study the mandatory coronavirus disease 2019 vaccination to fight the spread of its new variant known as the Omicron variant as revealed by President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission.
According to Ms. von der Leyen Covid-19 vaccines would be important to combat the “highly contagious” variant.
A certain two dozen countries have announced cases of the Omicron variant and the EU heightened travel restrictions since the start of the variant’s spread previously this month.
The World Health Organization had stated that the initial symptoms of most cases of the deadly variant were “mild”.
In relation to this, on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, Ms von der Leyen said that was clear and suitable for the EU members to consider mandatory Covid-19 vaccinations as a third of the group’s population were unvaccinated .
Moreover, the president of the EU Commission had stated in what way the union could urge and possibly contemplate the mandatory vaccinations, this includes talks between the nations and a common approach- adding that discussions should be organized to fully reach this goal.
