With the arrival of winter season, the problem of air pollution arises in Delhi. In view of this, the Delhi government has directed the Environment Department to prepare a winter action plan from next week.
Along with this, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai will meet the Air Quality Management Commission and the Union Environment Minister to solve the problem of stubble burning in neighboring states. There is a demand of the Delhi government that a joint action plan should be made for all the states, so that they can fight the fight against pollution strongly.
In North India, including Delhi, the problem of pollution increases significantly during the cold season. The Delhi government says that there are many reasons for increasing pollution in the winter season, including vehicular pollution and dust pollution, but a very important reason for increasing pollution during winter is stubble. For the past several years, the pollution caused by stubble burning is being discussed continuously but its solution is not coming out.
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that for smelting stubble in Delhi last year, the Delhi government through Pusa Institute had sprayed bio-de-composer in the fields and it has yielded positive results. We want the governments of the neighboring states of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to also start an initiative regarding bio-de-composer. We had also spoken in the National Commission about the experiments we conducted last year.
To give impetus to this, a delegation of the Delhi Government will soon meet the Ministers of the Central Government as well as the National Commission, because if the work on it is not accelerated from now, then the problem of pollution caused by stubble burning in time. It will be difficult to get rid of. We want that a joint action plan can be made with all the states, through which we can fight the fight against pollution with a strong force.
To deal with pollution, the Environment Department of the Delhi government will prepare a winter action plan from next week. For which instructions have been given to all the officers of DPCC of the Environment Department. Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that we are going to prepare a winter action plan from next week, but the pollution in North India is difficult to reduce without a joint campaign.
If all the states get cooperation through the central government, then it will be easy to fight this battle and get rid of pollution from Delhi as well as the people of North India. We have decided that we will soon hold a meeting with the central government and put forth all our points and we would like to get cooperation from the central government, so that this fight can be taken forward.
