First Anniversary of Little Thailand Way in NYC Celebrated with Grandeur

The vibrant streets of New York City were painted with the colors, flavors, and traditions of Thailand as the city celebrated the first anniversary of ‘Little Thailand Way’ on September 23, 2023. The anniversary event, presided over by Ambassador Tanee Sangrat and Consul General Somjai Taphaopong, was a testament to the growing recognition and strength of this cultural enclave in the heart of the Big Apple.

The celebration was graced by distinguished guests, including members of the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington D.C., the Royal Thai Consulate General, the Tourism Authority of Thailand NA, the Thai community, and representatives from the offices of the NYC Council Member and NYS Assembly Member, along with various local agencies.

Ambassador Tanee Sangrat and Consul General Somjai Taphaopong extended their warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to the Little Thailand Way community for its remarkable growth and the increasing recognition it has garnered over the past year. They also expressed their appreciation for the unwavering commitment of the Thai Community USA NYC, led by the dedicated Mr. Juttana Limreartwate, in fostering the growth of this flourishing community.

In a touching tribute to the outstanding individuals within the Thai community, the Thai Community USA NYC, in collaboration with NYC Council Member Chekar Krishnan and NYS Assembly Member Steven Raga, presented certificates of recognition to ten remarkable individuals for their exceptional contributions. These awards were a reflection of the community’s gratitude for their tireless efforts in preserving and promoting Thai culture in New York City.

The Royal Thai Embassy and the Royal Thai Consulate General took this opportunity to extend their warmest congratulations to the awardees and the entire Thai community in New York.
