The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India has reported a decrease in COVID cases since yesterday. As of February 15, 2022 (8:00 IST), there has been a total of 25,854 new cases reported across India.
Kerala has not reported 8,989 cases at this time. Maharashtra registered 1,966 cases, and Karnataka stands at 1,568 cases at this time. Today’s number is lower than yesterday’s and below the 200,000 mark that was previously reported.
This is the eighth day that the cases have fallen below 100,000. Despite the decrease in cases, public precaution is still advised. Social Distancing, vaccination, and wearing masks is still recommended.
The cases continue to drop and more restrictions are lifted. More children are encouraged to have their vaccinations completed.
There were suggestions to take strict action against schools that failed to ensure vaccination of students, but no such decision was eventually taken. “We are trying a different outreach program for private and aided schools,” the official said.
“One reason why the numbers are much higher in government schools is the large number of special camps organized in them. There have been demands for similar camps by other schools. We are working on it as it might make a lot of difference,” said the official.
