INDIA COVID Cases Update as of February 7, 2022

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India has reported a decrease in COVID cases since yesterday. As of February 7, 2022 (8:00 IST), there has been a total of 84,838 new cases reported across India.

Kerala has reported 26,729 cases followed by Maharashtra registering 9,666 cases, and Karnataka stands at 8,425 cases at this time. Today’s number is lower than yesterday’s and below the 200,000 mark that was previously reported.

This is the eighth day that the cases have fallen below 200,000. Despite the decline in cases, public precaution is still advised. Social Distancing, vaccination, and wearing masks is still recommended.

Jammu and Kashmir State Executive Committee ended the weekend lockdown and decreased the night curfew. DCGI has granted the use of the single-dose Sputnik Light Covid-19 vaccine in India.

Central government offices will also resume 100% attendance with all employees of all levels from tomorrow. This decision was made in light of the declining cases nationwide.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar also announced that schools up to class 8th to re-open with 50% capacity. All schools for classes 9 and above, colleges, and coaching institutes to open with 100% capacity. Cinema halls, clubs, gyms, stadiums, swimming pools, restaurants operate at 50% capacity.

The country is seeing additional curbs lifted as the national tally declines.
