The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India has reported an increase in COVID cases since yesterday. As of January 14, 2022 (8:00 IST), there has been a total of 246,787 new cases reported across India.
Maharashtra has reported 46,4040 cases followed by Delhi registering 28,867 cases, and West Bengal stands at 23,467 cases at this time. This is the second day that the cases crossed the 200,000 mark in a while.
In the initial discovery of the omicron variant, many health officials across the globe reported the most common symptoms are fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, the new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea.
In the UK, doctors observed tell-tale signs that were common were high temperature, a new or continuous cough, and loss or change to a sense of smell or taste.
Most of the symptoms look like a common cold but WHO continually warns the public not to dismiss the “mild” symptoms. The reason behind this is that the virus is still mutating. If an individual tested positive for COVID, the individual should go straight to home isolation and monitor the symptoms.
