India Nepal Bus Service Resumes

After a gap of one and a half years, the India-Nepal friendship bus service has been resumed. This friendship bus service will leave from Siliguri and reach Kathmandu via Kakkadvitta-Panitanki. After a long gap, a private transport company in Kathmandu on Tuesday resumed a 45-seater air-conditioned deluxe bus service on the Kathmandu-Kakarvitta-Siliguri route. The bus will start its journey thrice a week. It will leave Siliguri at 3 pm and will reach Kathmandu at around 11 am the next day via Kakkadvitta-Panitanki “India-Nepal” border.

Bus Amenities
It has a Wi-Fi facility. At the same time, its fare in Indian currency has been kept at Rs 1500. India-Nepal friendship bus service between Siliguri and Kathmandu was started on 26 August 2019. It was flagged off by Nepal’s Minister of Transport Management, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri, and employees of the private bus company.

On the resumption of Indo-Nepal Friendship Bus Service, Secretary, Siliguri Bus Owners Welfare Association, Santosh Saha, while talking about the problems of the tourism sector, said that tourism services have been badly affected in these months. “There has been a huge impact on tourism. We are facing problems, but we are hopeful that the days to come will be good for tourism,” he said. Please tell that due to corona infection, the friendship bus service from Siliguri to Kathmandu was banned.
