Our society consists of 5 social classes and due to COVID-19 Pandemic, many struggles even for food while they are alive and are even deprived of their final rites when they die.
To provide a helping hand, the Lions Club of Bangkok Silom 310-D extended their support to various Thai temples in Bangkok today, 15 August 2021 by arranging and distributing Fuel Drums (Diesel) used in the final rites. These oil barrels will be used for the funeral of those whose families could not afford the funeral that costs about THB 1250 per funeral.
There are several people who are either living alone with no one to take care of their funeral when they die while some people are too poor for being able to arrange a proper funeral. For all such needy people, the Lions Club of Bangkok, Silom has come forward to help them with fuel donations. Several drums were distributed to several temples of Bangkok. This initiative has been named as ‘Peaceful Journey in respect of those who departed from this world.
The Lions Club of Bangkok, Silom has been playing an instrumental role in the social cause. At times, they come forward with such initiatives that help those who are needy. They have appealed for generous donations so that the fuel donation program could be continued for the benefit of the needy. Each drum costs Baht 5,000 for 200 liters and one drum can be used for 4 funerals.
