Keeping in mind the requirement of passengers, Rapid PCR Test Facility has been setup at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. The United Arab Emirates has recently made test reports mandatory for its visitors. The United Arab Emirates has lifted restrictions on transit passenger traffic from India and flights have resumed from cities like Chennai, Kochi, Bengaluru, Trivandrum and New Delhi from 7 August. In view of the demand, many more flights are expected to start. Only transit passengers from India and residents of UAE are allowed to travel for UAE.
Although flights to the UAE have been resumed, passengers are required to undergo a rapid PCR test before boarding. Genstrings Diagnostic Center has been set up at the airport of Delhi for all COVID related tests. The center has announced on Sunday that it will also provide rapid PCR test facility to passengers.
Following the new guidelines issued by the UAE, Genstrings Diagnostic Center has set up a rapid PCR test facility at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. According to Dr. Gauri Agarwal, the founder of the center, the test facility will initially have about 50 rapid PCR machines based on ID Now technology and this capacity can be doubled if the demand increases. The cost of the test will be Rs 5000 and the report will be received in 45 to 60 minutes.
Significantly, from August 5, the UAE had lifted the ban on entry of passengers from India and five other countries. As per UAE guidelines, passengers will have to undergo PCR test 72 hours before departure. Passengers will also have to undergo a rapid-19 test four hours before boarding the plane.
Passengers of Indigo, Vistara, Air India, Emirates, Etihad, Flydubai and others will benefit immensely from the opening of this testing centre. This will help more than 400,000 passengers stranded here due to the lockdown.
