As the mayoral elections within Rome, Italy draws closer and closer, the task of governing the famous city is either the greatest reward or heavy burden.
The beautiful capital city of Italy is loved by travelers throughout the world although is also troubled by issues underneath its apparent appearance, as its residents are more and more disappointed concerning the city’s present-day ruins.
IN 2013 the largest landfill in Europe also known as Malagrotta, a huge hole where all the waste in Europe was dumped had been forced to close.
According to Christian Raimo author of the “Rome Is Not Eternal”, currently, the most crucial obstacle that Rome is currently experiencing is the rubbish situation, the transportation system s well as the governance of public spaces as a whole, as these things cause to the forming of potholes which become craters and some buses that caught fire.
Mr. Raime states that traditionally it is the city authorities’ responsibility to build waste processing plants while town halls are supervising the cleanup and rubbish processing, which in turn result towards blaming each other and eventually mishandlings by town halls and the government operated rubbish company AMA.
” I think it should be fixed because it looks like a dirty town,” says one of Rome’s residents, “It doesn’t look clean at all,” she added.
“I’ve never seen Rome so bad, this situation is unsustainable,” says another of the city’s locale.
“For me it is very heartbreaking to see that my city is a bit left behind,” says a city’s citizen.
