Siam Piwat Shines at Thailand Mega Fair 2023 in Saudi Arabia

In a dazzling showcase of Thailand’s potential as a global destination leader, Siam Piwat, a key representative of the Thai private sector, left an indelible mark at the inaugural Thailand Mega Fair 2023 held at The Arena Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. The event, organized for the first time by Index Creative Village Public Company Limited in collaboration with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, took place from December 13 to 16, 2023, and witnessed participation from over 120 Thai companies with promising potential.

Siam Piwat, known for its leadership in the Luxury Retail market and its commitment to creating world-class destinations, presented a unique booth reflecting the strength of Thai creativity. This creativity has been instrumental in developing global destinations that captivate both Thai and international audiences. Moreover, Siam Piwat’s booth underscored its unwavering position as a trusted entity in the Luxury Retail market, enjoying the confidence of leading global brands.

The Thailand Mega Fair aimed to spotlight Thailand’s renewed presence in the Middle East, emphasizing its strong relations and cooperation with Saudi Arabia. The Royal Thai Embassy played a pivotal role in inaugurating the event, with Ambassador Darm Boontham expressing confidence that TMX2023 would serve as a platform for fostering closer collaboration between the public and private sectors of both kingdoms.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Parnpree Bahiddha, Thai Minister of Labor Phipat Ratchakitprakarn, and Thai Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Darm Boontham were among the distinguished Thai dignitaries present at the inauguration. On the Saudi side, Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Al-Khuraiji, and other high-profile attendees graced the event.

Following the opening ceremony, Saudi Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi and Thai Deputy Prime Minister Parnpree Bahiddha toured the fair, engaging with exhibitors who had traveled from Thailand to showcase their diverse array of products and services.

Among the participants, Namfon Mekloy from Oud by Hawa in Bangkok expressed her excitement about entering the Saudi market. “This is the beginning of a good business,” she said, showcasing bukhoor, oud, and other incense from countries such as Laos, Burma, and Thailand.

Counsellor Chartchai Tiamsanit from the Thai Office of Labour Affairs in the Thai Embassy in Riyadh highlighted the embassy’s efforts to promote legal employment of Thai workers in Saudi Arabia. Tiamsanit sees this fair as a crucial step in enhancing cooperation and tourism between the two nations.

The Saudi minister acknowledged the significance of participating in the Thailand Mega Fair 2023, seeing it as a vital step toward economic diversification and increased trade cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Thailand. The minister expressed a shared aspiration to continue joint efforts to promote and facilitate trade and investment opportunities.

The Thailand Mega Fair, featuring participants from various sectors including food trading, supply chain partners, oud and perfumes, health and wellness, and entertainment, continues to captivate visitors until December 16, remaining open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. This grand event stands as a testament to Siam Piwat’s global destination leadership and Thailand’s growing influence in the Middle East market.
