Thailand has announced further easing of COVID-19 restrictions across the country, as the country’s vaccination rates have seen a gradual increase. Taweesin Wisanyuthin, spokesperson for the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration, said,
Meanwhile, the number of red zones or maximum containment zones will also come down from 37 to 30, indicating the overall recovery of the country and stabilization of control over the pandemic situation.
Night time curfew will be reduced to four hours from 11 pm to 3 am.
The number of dark red provinces that are under maximum control will be reduced from 29 to 23 provinces.
The CCSA also announced further relaxations by allowing the extension of the hours of operation of eateries, flea markets, sports facilities of all kinds, shopping centers and movie theaters to 10 pm.
Trade fairs, convention and exhibition centers and hotels are allowed to hold meetings for up to 500 people per event.
Public and private organisations as well as people are still prohibited to organise any activities prone to the spread of disease, but the number of attendees has been increased for each zone. Dark-red zone: No gatherings of more than 50 people (from previously 25 people). Red zone: No gatherings of more than 100 people (from previously 50 people). Orange zone: No gatherings of more than 200 people (from previously 100 people).
Travel between dark-red zone provinces and other areas can resume normal operations but must apply social distancing measures.
The CCSA approved a revision of which provinces are considered a dark red maximum and strict controlled zone with the current 29 provinces on the list reduced to just 23. On the next level down, red zones are dropping from 37 to 30 provinces, and orange zones will grow from 11 to 24.
