Thailand COVID 19 Update – Ministry of Health reports 5,775 new COVID-19 cases and an additional 11 deaths for the past 24 hours. There were 5,549 cases found among the public and 77 from prison inmates. The ministry also announced an additional 2,673 recovered patients. This is a significant increase from yesterday’s report.
The Department of Disease control stated that after the New Year Holidays, there has been a spike in the number of daily cases. They have advised those who traveled during the holidays to observe their symptoms for at least 14 days. They also strongly recommend private offices conduct regular ATK testing at least twice a week to detect possible positive cases.
DDC advised anyone who has tested positive with an ATK self-test kit to contact their hotline (1422) for assistance. A specialist will visit to evaluate the symptoms and recommend self-isolation or hospital treatment.
The public is still encouraged to continue vaccination, observe social distancing, wear masks, and sanitize their hands as often as possible. These are simple steps that can strongly help prevent the spread of the virus.
