The use of ‘Merck’ pill was approved for the treatment of corona in Britain. Britain has approved the conditional use of the world’s first antiviral pill, believed to be helpful in the successful treatment of Covid-19. Britain is the first country that has accepted treatment with this pill, although it is not clear how soon this pill will be available. Corona-infected people of the age of eighteen years and above have been approved to use this pill, in whom at least one such factor is seen which can make the situation serious. The name of this medicine is ‘Molnupiravir’.
Persons with mild infection of Covid will have to take this pill twice a day. This antiviral pill reduces the symptoms of corona and helps in faster recovery. It can be helpful in reducing the burden on hospitals and curbing infection in poor countries. This pill will be helpful in the two methods necessary to fight against the pandemic, medicine and prevention.
Relevant regulators in the US, Europe and some other countries are reviewing the drug. The US Food and Drug Administration said last month that it would convene a panel meeting in late November to find out the safety and effectiveness of the pill. The drug maker ‘Merck’ has made this drug. In October British officials announced that 480,000 doses of ‘molnupiravir’ had been achieved and were expected to help treat thousands more this winter. UK Health Minister Sajid Javid said, ‘This is a historic day for our country because the UK is the first country in the world to approve an antivirus that can be taken at home to treat Covid.’
