Ukraine Update – The Talks Continue

Ukraine Update – The Talks Continue – Although Ukraine has paused some of Russia’s advances, a presidential adviser claims that missiles are being fired towards various cities. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that as part of a peace agreement with Russia, he is willing to accept a neutral, non-nuclear position.

Russian missiles targeted the cities of Lutsk, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, and Rivne on Sunday, according to Ukrainian presidential adviser Mikhail Podoliak. “Every day, more and more missiles are launched. “Mariupol was bombed on the ‘carpet,'” he claimed. “Russia no longer has a language, a civilization, or a humanism.” Only missiles, bombs, and attempts to obliterate Ukraine off the face of the planet.”

In a video shared on social media, Zelensky claimed that peace and the restoration of normal living are the “clear” aims of Ukraine, ahead of a fresh round of peace talks scheduled for Tuesday in Istanbul. “Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty are unquestionable. Effective security assurances for our country are required “he stated A neutral, non-nuclear status for Ukraine in the form of a “real treaty” was acceptable as part of a compromise with Russia, Zelensky told journalists on Sunday, but any agreement would have to be submitted to a referendum.

Responding to a reporter’s query about whether he was pushing for regime change in response to statements made Saturday, US President Joe Biden answered, “No.” President Vladimir Putin of Russia, according to Biden, “cannot remain in power.” Other members of the Biden administration have tried to clarify Biden’s remark.

During an operation in the Kharkiv region, what appear to be Ukrainian forces shoot individuals who are allegedly Russian detainees in the knees in a nearly six-minute video. When asked about the video, Oleksiy Arestovych, a senior presidential advisor, said: “The government is taking this extremely seriously, and an investigation will be launched right now. We’re a European army, and we don’t make fun of our detainees. This is completely terrible behavior if it turns out to be true.”
