The decision has been taken on the bail plea of Raj Kundra in the pornographic film case. In this case, the court has rejected the bail application of Raj Kundra. Along with this, giving another big blow to Raj Kundra, his passport has also been confiscated. The crime branch feared that Raj Kundra might go abroad, due to which his passport was confiscated in April.
As soon as his name came up in the investigation of the crime branch, the police had confiscated his passport. On Tuesday, Raj Kundra was sent to judicial custody for 14 days in this case. The ED had sought a copy of the FIR in the Kundra case. The High Court did not grant immediate relief to Kundra. Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe, who were arrested in connection with the production of obscene films and their exposure through some apps, had filed a bail plea, which was heard today.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Fort Court of Mumbai sent Raj Kundra to judicial custody for 14 days. During the hearing on Tuesday, the police demanded 7 days custody of Raj Kundra. Police told the court that the debit accounts of Raj Kundra’s Citibank and Kotak Mahindra Bank have been frozen.
There is a deposit of Rs 1 crore 13 lakh in Kotak Mahindra Bank. The Crime Branch has appealed to all the victims related to this case who have not come forward yet. A victim has come before the crime branch on July 26 and has also given her statement to the crime branch. When the police asked for the information of the hotshot from the Apple Store, it was found that Rs 1.64 crore was received from it.
The payment information is yet to come from Google. Files related to foreign transactions have been found in Red Raj Kundra’s office on July 24. Chats related to Hotshot’s revenue and payments have been received from Raj Kundra’s mobile and Ryan’s MacBook. The Crime Branch had earlier told the court that Kundra was planning to sell 119 adult films to someone for USD 1.2 million.
The police claim that during the investigation of the case, it was found that Kundra had set up Armsprime Media Pvt Ltd which purchased the ‘Hotshots’ app through London-based Kenrin Pvt Ltd for posting objectionable videos on social media. During searches at the office of the accused, the police claimed to have found 51 obscene videos out of which 35 had the logo of Hotshots and 16 had the logo of Bolifam.
According to Mumbai Police sources, no role of film actress Shilpa Shetty has been revealed in this case so far.
