Brown bread is high in fat and saturated fatty acids. 100 grams of brown bread contains 1.08 grams, while white bread contains 0.52 grams of fat. In contrast, the amount of saturated fatty acids in brown bread is also twice that of white bread. If you consume less quantity of them then there is no problem, but when consumed in more quantity, then you can turn to white bread.
The amount of dietary fiber is much higher in brown bread than in white bread. High fiber foods play an important role in controlling your blood sugar levels. Not only this, it also prevents you from overeating. Fiber absorbs sugar better, making it beneficial for diabetic patients.
So it depends on your dietary requirements. If you need high amounts of protein, iron, calcium and fiber, but you do not mind consuming high fat and sugar, then you can go for brown bread. But, if you want to reduce the intake of fat and sugar completely, then white bread is the right option for you. Also note that both varieties of bread have high refined carbs, so keep them out of your diet if you want to lose weight.
