Thailand reaffirmed its commitment to deepening ties with Poland during a diplomatic reception held on April 30, 2026, in Bangkok.
H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, represented the Thai government at the event, which marked both Constitution Day and National Day of Poland. The reception took place at the elegant Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok and brought together diplomats, officials, and members of the international community.
Celebrating Poland’s National Day
During the event, the Vice Minister conveyed Thailand’s congratulations toto H.E. Mr. Karol Nawrocki, President of the Republic of Poland and the Polish people, underscoring the longstanding friendship between the two nations.
The occasion served as a platform to reflect on shared values and to explore new opportunities for collaboration across multiple sectors.
Expanding Cooperation Across Key Sectors
Thailand emphasized its intention to enhance cooperation with Poland in several strategic areas, including defence, international security, research and innovation, and digital infrastructure. These sectors are seen as vital to both countries’ long-term development and global engagement.
The Thai side also expressed appreciation for Poland’s continued support in Thailand’s efforts to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, as well as ongoing negotiations related to the Thailand–EU Free Trade Agreement.
Boosting Travel and Connectivity
A key highlight of the evening was the shared enthusiasm for strengthening connectivity between the two countries. Both sides welcomed the planned resumption of direct flights between Bangkok and Warsaw by LOT Polish Airlines, scheduled to begin in October 2026.
The new route is expected to make travel more convenient for both business and leisure travellers, while also encouraging tourism and cultural exchange between Thailand and Poland.
